When doing on location portrait photography in the Washington, DC area, you are quite often confronted with a lot of security concerns. This was the case when a local University ask that I photograph one of their alumni on location at the NOAA Satellite Operations Control Center (SOCC) at Suitland, MD. We had acquired all the necessary permissions ahead of time, but we were challenged, as we should have been, by the local security personnel. I was allowed to photograph in one direction only because the building behind us was not allowed to be photographed. So I made sure I had my back to that building at all times.
After it was all said and done, we had a great time during the photo shoot and the photographs came out great.
