Pam Faulkner, whose Herndon-based company is called Faulkner House Interior Redesign, headed up a group of six interior designers to help bring some life and warmth to what were plain, white, and drab apartments at the Patrick Henry Family Shelter in Falls Church, VA. They base their redesigns on what people have. Here they don't have a lot, but they are great at repurposing, refinishing and remaking. I had the opportunity to photograph one of the apartments that Pam and her interior design friends had redesigned ... it was really amazing what some color, refinishing, and reupholstering can do to an apartment.
