W Hotel / Hotel Washington Photo Shoot

I had the opportunity to do some architectural photography for The Washington Post at the W Hotel, formerly the Hotel Washington in Washington, DC. The new owner spent over $90 million to renovate the hotel. There were a lot of nice touches.

The design story behind the new hotel (LA-based Dianna Wong is the designer) is that of Power in Washington. Specifically, it is that while most people think that true power lies within the pinstriped suit, actual Washington power is derived from the negligee. This is translated thoughout, where pinstripe and lace touches can be found from the furnishings and bedding to the lace-trimmed curtains.
